Just like calcium and alkalinity, magnesium is also depleted rapidly in an enclosed aquarium system. It aids in the uptake of calcium inorder for hard corals to form an elaborate exoskeleton. Due to it being in the chloride family this form of magnesium will have they largest amount of magnesium per pound than any other form. 1250-1450 ppm is an optimum range magnesium levels for optimum coral growth and polyp extension.

I started using this product 3 months ago and I am very happy with the decision to try it. Have a heavy load on the reef tank so I find these
bulk/dry additives much easier to titrate and regulate. Most stores do not carry the bulk liquid additives which prompted my intial switch. I have a
larger tank and over the last few months find this product much more economical than the liquids. rnEager to try the kalkwasser (Mag hydroxide)
mix to suppliment Mag going forward.
